Generously-sized handknit shawl in Lion Brand's Homespun. Homespun is what I like to refer to as the "polar fleece" of the yarn world. It's light, warm and a joy to wear. The color is Colonial, a jewel-like deep blue & medium blue mix, 100% acrylic boucle. This shawl is a traditional triangle shape knit by me in garter stitch. The measurements are as follows: 72" wide and 40" long, excluding the 6" fringe.
A separate fringed tie is included for wearing ease, or when you want to keep your shawl without holding it, or tying it in front, or wrapping. I now make ties to with all of the shawls I offer. I find this particularly useful when you go out to dinner, the restaurant is a little chilly, but you don't want to worry about your shawl falling off. Fringe is hand tied individually and then tied again halfway up to prevent further freying than what is pictured.
What a gorgeous, versatile and practical garment to add to your wardrobe for just about any season. I sometimes wrap one of my Homespun shawls as an extra layer of warmth around a classic long wool coat for a great layered look.
